 Isle of Harris Ferry

The ferries run a seasonal schedule and during the summer months it is vital to book well in advance.

Caledonian MacBrayne operate ferry services from;

Ullapool to Stornoway (Lewis);
Uig (Skye) to Tarbert (Harris)
Berneray (North Uist) to Leverburgh Harris

  • Please note that if you are returning to the mainland on the Saturday morning ferry, you must leave the Old Mission Hall in good time to be at the ferry by 45 minutes before departure. If not on time, they will not board your car! For example, to make the 7:00 a.m. Stornoway to Ullapool ferry, you must leave the Old Mission Hall by 5:10 a.m. in order to arrive at the ferry at 6:15 at the very latest.


By air:

It's easy to fly to Stornoway from almost anywhere, with connections via Glasgow and Edinburgh International Airports and daily flights to Stornoway from both these airports, there are also daily flights from Inverness.

Flybe operated by Loganair - two flights daily from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness
Eastern Airways operates from several airports daily.

Car Hire:

Cars hire is available at the airport and in Stornoway. We strongly recommend reserving ahead of time. While there are buses and other transport throughout Lewis and Harris, most locations and events are most easily reached by car.
